The Days of manual developing silk screens are numbers with this new technology from Xtool.
While I am no Master or Guru on the process of making Silk Screens for screen printing on T-shirts, I do know for a fact that traditionally the process for making the actual screen is time consuming, requires ALOT of specialized equipment, including harsh chemicals! and is a major pain in the butt! Gross!
Traditionally the steps need to make one screen for screen printing after you create a design, goes like this. 1: Prep the screen with photo sensitive emulsion (30 min) 2: Expose the screen (10 min)
3: Wash the screen (20min) 4: Dry The Screen (24hrs) and on and on and on,, You see where I'm going with this?!
Xtool has really put some thought into making the process of making screens FAST and getting to the best part of screen printing Actually MAKING THE T-SHIRT! I know it so basic, but that the ultimate goal that we all want to get to. Time is money folks and Xtool seems to understand that.
THE SECRET WEAPON!
Xtool has developed a new type of laser engravable screen, where the mesh is made from METAL (not silk) and coated with a laser safe polymer coating. So all YOU have to do is laser away the mask coating to reveal the ultra fine screen mesh, load your finished screen in the frame and start printing! Come on man!! That's too easy!!
